Al Sigl Center’s 38th Annual Golf Classic, held last Monday at Midvale Country Club raised over $200,000 to benefit over 70,000 children and adults with disabilities that are helped by Al Sigl Center’s partner agencies. Over 200 golfers and 75 volunteers helped bring off a flawless tournament that included full fields in both the morning and afternoon rounds.

Al Sigl Center Sports Committee Chairman, Joe Eduardo, proudly announced that “Our generous underwriters and supporters helped us set a new all-time fund raising record. We owe it all to them.” Honorary Chairman Michael G. Kane, president and publisher of the Democrat and Chronicle noted that “breaking a record is very impressive, not nearly as impressive as the positive affect this money will have on people with disabilities served by Al Sigl Center partner agencies.”

The key sponsors for this year’s tournament included both the Democrat and Chronicle, Rochester Linoleum & Carpet One and Don and Linda Garvey.

The Al Sigl Center Golf Tournament is one of the most established and successful of its kind in the Rochester area. Well over $2.0 million has been raised over the past 38 years to help area people with disabilities achieve their goals and improve their lives.

Al Sigl Center is a unique community partnership of eight caring agencies-each operating independently in program services, budget and staff-but passionately working together to improve the lives of over 70,000 kids and grownups with disabilities in the Greater Rochester area. The other agencies are; The Arc of Monroe County, CP Rochester, Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester-Syracuse-Binghamton, Mary Cariola Children's Center, Medical Motor Service, National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Upstate New York Chapter, Rochester Hearing & Speech Center and Rochester Rehabilitation Center.
